On Tuesday Jan. 22, the Clear Falls varsity boy’s soccer team took on the Santa Fe Indians. The Knights prevailed with an 8 to 1 victory.This is the first time Clear Falls sports teams are competing at the 5A level.
“There has been a definite change, it’s more competitive and there are better and tougher teams,” said Nick Spehar, 3.

The Clear Falls’ Knights defeated rival Clear Creek 56-48 on Friday, Jan 25. It was a great way for the Knights to cap off an evening filled with spirit as many teachers came out to show their support for their students playing in the game.In their previous meeting with Creek, the Knights didn’t show up. They got trampled, 50-38. They were outworked and out muscled. Fans, students, and other teams wanted to see how the Knights would respond.

January of 2013 brought not only a new year, a new month, and a new semester, but Clear Falls’ first state championship win for an entire sports team.Wrestling’s state duals took place the weekend of Jan. 11-13. Both the boys and girls wrestling team qualified to travel to Allen High School, the defending state champs who hosted the tournament.The girls wrestled phenomenally, and ultimately placed first. This state championship became Clear Falls’ first athletic state title to hold.

Recent policy changes have been made at Clear Creek Independent School District and Clear Falls, regarding dress code, tutorial start times, as well as a greater importance of hall passes during class. Some of these changes are brought on by an increased need for security after the recent rise of school shootings such as Sandy Hook in CT. and Lone Star College, in Houston.
